he OpalAir features Low Air Loss/airlow and ‘Alternating Mode’ – air cells inflate and deflate to offload pressure for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown. Cells alternate slowly, to ensure patients remain comfortable.

It features the same intuitive controls and therapeutic Modes as the Topaz 8 Plus, while offering a higher air flow rate which may be optimal to keep skin dry for patients where moisture is a concern. It’s deeper cells facilitate maximum immersion and offloading.

The OpalAir is the quietest mattress in its class and has the ‘DreamPillow’ static section, so clients rest comfortably. It features a Cool or Warm air function, while ‘HeelHeaven’ offloads heel pressure. ‘Auto-fowler’ increases airflow to the sacrum area when the head section is elevated, ensuring optimal pressure re-distribution. ‘Auto-detection’ sets the optimal pressure automatically.

Therapeutic Modes

Alternating Mode

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to offload pressure for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown. Cells alternate slowly, to ensure patients remain comfortable. The mattress features ‘SmoothCell’ design – a gentler cell movement than traditional alternating cells.

Pulsate

All air cells simultaneously deflate to a reduced pressure for half the cycle time, then return to the full selected pressure for the rest of the cycle. Provides a gentler therapeutic Mode that aids in the increase of capillary blood flow to the skin.

Constant Low Pressure (CLP)

Air cells maintain at a lower pressure. This greater client immersion delivers a constant and comfortable level of pressure redistribution. This is the gentlest Mode, and may be useful for hypersensitive clients or those in palliative care.
